Benefits of Dhikr, Salawaat and Salaam


Benefits of Dhikrullah
  • It pleases Allah Most Merciful.
  • It removes sadness and heaviness from the heart.
  • It produces happiness and contentment in the heart.
  • It strengthens the heart and the body.
  • It fills the face and the heart with Nūr (blessed light)
  • It results in murāqabah (continuous awareness) in the dhākir (person engaged in the remembrance of Allah) until he/she enters the door of Ihsān (perfection) and worships Allah All Mighty as if he/she sees Allah and if they cannot see Allah, they know that Allah sees them.
  • It opens a great door of the doors of Ma'rifah (knowing Allah)
  • It enlivens the heart.
  • It strengthens the rūh (soul)
  • It prevents sins and removes their effects and this is one of the greatest of blessings.
  • It prevents safety from the punishment of Allah All Powerful
  • It is the cause of the descent of peacefulness and the flow of mercy
  • Verily the gathering of dhikr is the gathering of Angels
  • Certainly involvement with it is the cause of Allah All Knowing granting the dh the best of what He gives to those who ask.
  • It is the easiest of all ibādāt (acts of worship) and of the most beneficial
  • The continuous remembrance of Allah Most High ensures safety from ghaflah (neglect and forgetfulness) which is the cause of the servant’s difficulties.
  • Certainly dhikr is the nūr of the dhākir in this world and a nūr for him/her in the grave.
  • Certainly the angels seek forgiveness for the dhākir just as they seek forgiveness for the one who make tawbah (the one who sincerely seeks forgiveness).
  • Certainly excessive remembrance of Allah is a safety-net from hypocrisy, for surely the hypocrites are those who make very little dhikr.
  • Dhikr 
  • is the cure for the heart and its medicine, whilst its negligence is a cause of its sickness. is the pinnacle of thankfulness. What thankfulness is there in the person who does not remember Allah?
Benefits of making Salāt and salām upon Nabi Muhammad (SAW)

Qur'an 33:56 "Lo! Allah and His angels shower blessings on the Prophet. O ye who believe! Ask blessings on him and salute him with a worthy salutation."

  • It is the fulfilment of a command Allah All Knowing

  • It is a practice wherein one finds agreement with the malāikah (angels)

  • The person receives ten Salawāt from Allah Most Merciful for every one sent

  • The person is raised ten stages

  • Ten good deeds are written down for him

  • Ten evil deeds are removed from him

  • It eases the acceptance of a du'a when one precedes it and ends it with Salawāt because Salawāt is   the vehicle that assists the du'a in reaching Allah Most High

  • It is a cause of the intercession of Nabi Sallallahu alayhi wa sallam on onesbehalf

  • It is a cause of the forgiveness of one’s sins

  • It is a reason for Allah Oft Forgiving removing that which grieves His servant

  • It is a cause for the servant of Allah All Powerful to be close to the Nabi Sallallahu alayhi wa sallam on the day of Qiyāmah
  • It is a cause of the fulfilment of ones needs

  • It purifies the person

  • It is a reason for the Angels sending salutations on a person

  • The Nabi Sallallahu alayhi wa sallam returns the greetings and salutations

  • It throws its companion[those who consistently engage in Salawāt] onto the path towards Jannah (paradise) and discards them from the path those who have left it

  • It causes a servant to remember what has been forgotten

  • It is results in the beautification of a gathering

  • It is the cause of Barakah in ones actions and life

  • It causes the Rahmah of Allah Most Gracious to descend

  • It develops permanent love for Allah’s most  beloved final Messenger Sallallahu alayhi wa sallam in a person which is a cornerstone of īmān, without which īmān is not fully complete

  • Salat upon Nabi Sallallahu alayhi wa sallam is a cause for his love for the servant  

  • It is a cause for the guidance of the servant

  • It is a cause for the heart to become alive

  • It is a cause of firm footing on the bridge of Sirāt and the nūr which brightens the way.
